I volunteer as a Community Investment Advocate. In this role I read, review, and evaluate community investment applications for United Way's Impact Fund and/or Innovation Fund. Based on my evaluation I make funding recommendations for the request that meet UWGC's impact focus areas education, stability, and health. Through the funding year I conduct recurring coaching check-ins with the assigned agency contact(s).

The Benwood Foundation is a private foundation focused on supporting shared prosperity in Chattanooga through strategic grant-making, collaborative problem-solving, and adaptive leadership. We partner with a number of entities- including nonprofits, other foundations, local government, community leaders, and businesses - to accomplish this work. Together, we leverage collective knowledge, creativity and resources for a greater impact than any of us can make alone.
At the Benwood Foundation, we work toward a vision of making the Chattanooga community a truly great place:
As a member of The Hunter Museum's African American Advisory Committee we help promote a healthy environment for black professionals to thrive. We promote Community, Connection, and Culture!
Helping to ensure healthcare reaches those that are in need.
Mission Statement: The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Alumni Board (formerly Alumni Council) connects the university with students, alumni and communities. By building and nurturing networks and relationships, the board promotes communication, partnerships and outreach between the university and these constituencies. The board enhances the heritage of the university as a strong learning environment and celebrates its diversity and metropolitan mission. The board through its volunteer and financial support advocates scholarship and personal development that advances the university experience.
I value giving back via mentorship to individuals that will impact our community. Chattanooga Preparatory School inspires and empowers young men to achieve academically and to participate in a collaborative learning community that will establish a trajectory for lifelong learning and success. I get the distinct privilege to mentor a young man from 6 grade to his graduation from high school. Building lifelong relationships, while pouring into this young man is life-changing for both of us!
Mentoring college students.
